Evil Dead Rise
Moves the cabin to a Los Angeles tower block. The cheese grater is the sequence people talk about.
Moves the cabin to a condemned Los Angeles tower block, which is the best idea anyone has had with this material since 1981.
A woman visits her sister and three children in a building due for demolition. An earthquake opens a vault beneath the car park containing a book.
Lee Cronin's change is that the deadite is the mother, which turns the whole film into children trapped in a flat with a parent who is still using her voice. That is considerably nastier than a cabin full of teenagers.
Alyssa Sutherland is excellent and the peephole shot is the best single image in the franchise.
The cheese grater sequence is the one that gets talked about and it is not even the worst thing in it.
It is very wet. The final act uses roughly 6,500 litres of blood, which the production has been happy to publicise.

Adjacent
Blood Rites
Andy Milligan shooting in Staten Island with a hand-held Auricon. An acquired taste nobody acquires.
Attachment
A Danish-Jewish folk horror about a dybbuk, a mother, and a relationship the mother will not permit.
Fight for Your Life
A home invasion built entirely on racial abuse. Genuinely hard to watch and not for craft reasons.
Mardi Gras Massacre
An Aztec-obsessed killer in New Orleans. A Blood Feast remake in all but name, and slower.
Exposé
The only British film on the DPP list. A novelist, a typist and Fiona Richmond in a farmhouse.
Don't Go Near the Park
Cursed cave dwellers from 12,000 BC eating people in modern Los Angeles. Incoherent throughout.
