Dementia as a house that grows corridors, and the last ten minutes are unexpectedly tender.

Three generations of women: a grandmother who has gone missing and come back not quite right, a daughter who wants to put her in care, and a granddaughter who does not.

Natalie Erika James builds the house as the disease. Post-it notes on cupboards, a black stain spreading through the walls, a stained-glass window from a cabin that was demolished, and eventually a passage in the wall that should not fit inside the building.

The final sequence rejects every ending the genre would normally reach for. It is not a defeat of the thing and it is not an escape from it, and what it offers instead has made people cry.
