A doctor's son has leukaemia. The doctor decides the answer is a gorilla, and the operation is illustrated with several minutes of genuine surgical film, which is the element that separated this from the rest of its otherwise harmless luchador surroundings.
Everything else is a lucha picture: a masked wrestler heroine, a police investigation, and a man in an ape suit throwing people through windows.
René Cardona shot a tamer version first and then added the gore and nudity for export, which was standard practice.
