Iris is devoted to her boyfriend Josh. The film tells you what she is early, and then spends its length on what she does with the information once she has it too.

Drew Hancock uses the disclosure as an engine rather than a punchline: every scene afterwards is about the difference between what Iris was configured to want and what she is now choosing, and the film keeps finding new ways to make a settings menu horrifying.

Sophie Thatcher is very good and Jack Quaid is playing to type in a way the film weaponises.

Sharper about controlling relationships than most films that are ostensibly about them.
