Frozen Scream

Every line in the film is dubbed, including scenes in which nobody is visibly speaking, and there is near-continuous narration explaining events as they happen on screen.

A doctor is pursuing immortality through cryogenics and has produced a small number of hooded, sluggish servants. That summary is more coherent than the film manages at any point.

It was made in California, sat unreleased for years, and reached Britain on video in the early 1980s where it was promptly listed.

The reason to know about it is as an object lesson: the DPP list is routinely described as a catalogue of extreme cinema, and a meaningful share of it is films like this, which are not extreme, not competent, and not watchable for reasons that have nothing to do with content.
