Killer Nun
Anita Ekberg as a morphine-addicted nun in a hospital. Nunsploitation with an actual performance in it.
Anita Ekberg, a decade after La Dolce Vita, as a morphine-addicted nun in a geriatric hospital.
Nunsploitation was a substantial Italian cycle and most of it is unwatchable. This one has an actual performance in it: Ekberg plays Sister Gertrude's deterioration as physical, sweaty and undignified, and she is not being camp about it.
The film claims to be based on a true case in Belgium, which is the standard Italian marketing lie of the period.
Giulio Berruti directs it more or less straight, which makes the exploitation elements sit oddly rather than comfortably. The dentures sequence is the one people remember, and it has nothing supernatural in it at all.

A Vietnam veteran, a vigilante group and a plot that gives up. Not the Lamberto Bava one.
Penda's Fen
A BBC play about a repressed vicar's son in the English countryside, and it is one of the strangest things ever broadcast.
I Miss You, Hugs and Kisses
A Canadian courtroom drama about a real murder. Its presence on the list is inexplicable.
Blood Rites
Andy Milligan shooting in Staten Island with a hand-held Auricon. An acquired taste nobody acquires.

An Australian wellness influencer at a hen weekend. Much sharper and much nastier than the premise suggests.
Fight for Your Life
A home invasion built entirely on racial abuse. Genuinely hard to watch and not for craft reasons.
