Cannibal Ferox

Sold as the most violent film ever made. Lenzi chasing Deodato and killing more animals to do it.

Lenzi chasing Deodato, and the gap between them is the whole story of this cycle.

Cannibal Holocaust had an argument about mondo and the manufacture of savagery. This has a poster claiming it was banned in 31 countries, a figure the distributor appears to have invented and which the British press repeated without checking.

It was sold in the United States as Make Them Die Slowly and marketed almost entirely on being unwatchable. The infamous sequences are the hook and the film has nothing underneath them.

More animals were killed, which is why it remains cut in the UK and will stay cut: the BBFC does not pass genuine cruelty and has been consistent about it for forty years.

It is on the site because the DPP list is documented in full and this was one of the 39 successfully prosecuted. As an evening it is a slog with four minutes of notoriety in it.

Every line is dubbed, including scenes with nobody talking. Almost hypnotically incompetent.
