Zombie Creeping Flesh

Bruno Mattei splicing genuine documentary footage of tribal life into a zombie film and hoping nobody would notice the grain change.

A chemical leak at a plant in New Guinea, a SWAT team, and a great deal of stock footage. The score is lifted wholesale from Goblin's Dawn of the Dead cues, because the producers had the rights to the library and used them.

It is incompetent in ways that are instructive: continuity does not survive individual scenes, the mondo inserts have a different aspect ratio, and one sequence has an actress remove her clothes and walk into a village apparently on the basis that it would fill time.

Mattei made a career of this and was cheerfully open about it in interviews.

On the DPP list, dropped without prosecution. Worth seeing once for the seams.
