Three film students made it on 16mm in black and white for almost nothing, playing the crew under their own names, with Benoît Poelvoorde as the killer, also under his own name.

It is very funny for a long time. Ben is charming, opinionated about architecture and poetry, recites verse about pigeons, and takes the crew home to meet his parents.

The film's actual subject is the crew. They start by observing, then hold a light, then help move a body, then join in, and the film's most notorious sequence is the moment that becomes irreversible.

It won prizes at Cannes and was banned or cut in several countries.

The final third is truly difficult, and the discomfort is entirely about your own hour of enjoying his company.
