Franco at his most indifferent, which is saying something.
A model is kidnapped and taken into the jungle, where a tribe worships a bug-eyed creature. A mercenary goes after her. That is ninety minutes.
The creature is a man in body paint with prosthetic eyes and the film shows him constantly and in daylight. There are extended sequences of people walking. The zoom lens is used in place of coverage throughout.
It was shot back to back with other Franco productions on shared locations, which was the economics of his career.
Successfully prosecuted, and it is one of the clearest cases where the prosecution was about a category rather than a film: there is very little in it that a jury in 1984 could not have seen in a cinema.
