Shawn, a cancelled internet personality trying to win back his audience, livestreams himself spending a night alone in a notoriously haunted house, having deliberately disabled his own escape routes for content. The house has an actual ghost.

Joseph and Vanessa Winter made a horror comedy in the Evil Dead II tradition, with the found-footage frame provided by the livestream, complete with a scrolling chat of viewers reacting in real time, which is both the joke and the mechanism.

Joseph Winter, who also stars, is genuinely funny as an insufferable, cowardly influencer, and the film's affection for practical creature effects and slapstick gore is the heart of it.

It is fast, funny and mean about internet culture, and the running chat commentary is used cleverly.

One of the most purely entertaining found-footage films in years.
