Abigail

A kidnapping that goes wrong in the most enjoyable way. Very wet, very fast, very funny.

A kidnapping that goes very wrong in the most enjoyable way available.

Six criminals abduct a ballerina, the daughter of a wealthy man, and are told to sit with her in a mansion for twenty-four hours. The premise is spoiled by the poster and the film does not care, because it puts the reveal about forty minutes in and treats it as the starting gun.

Radio Silence make it fast, wet and funny. Alisha Weir is thirteen and gives the best performance in it by a distance, switching registers mid-sentence and enjoying every second.

The kills are practical and absurdly abundant, with a body-explosion gag that the film repeats often enough to become a rhythm.

Melissa Barrera and Dan Stevens are having a good time. Angus Cloud's last film.
